Creating these sculptures has been a beautiful journey for me. Taking inspiration from Master Wood Carver Glenn Lucas was a turning point. Watching those mesmerizing wood shavings fall from his lathe sparked the idea for my "LOST and FOUND" series.
The process is intricate and demanding. Hand-twisting and curling custom dyed wood reeds to shape them just right takes time and patience. Each curl, spiral, and twist is a labor of love, bringing the sculpture to life with its color, movement, and texture.
Incorporating Lucas' discarded wood shavings into my work gives these "LOST" shavings a new purpose into something beautiful and unique.
